Diploma in Mass Comm (DMC) Meet and Greet organizers welcomed freshmen and seniors alike to their Halloween event last Wednesday.
The two hour event held at the sports hall saw the attendance of seniors and juniors from the Diploma and Degree mass communication programs.
The meet and greet session served as a way for seniors and juniors to get to know each other.
Games and ice breaking sessions were held where seniors and juniors were encouraged to meet one another and initiate conversation to get better acquainted in order to meet the games objectives. A costume competition was also held with male and female categories.
“I’ve never felt so dark before dressing up like this and the make up almost went into my eye because it was so thick.” said winner of the best female costume category, Tabitha, a first year DMC student who dressed up as a Audrey Hepburn inspired classy skeletal witch.
Justin Wong Zhe Xuan, the co-organizer of the event and a final year Diploma in Mass Communication student said that the success of this event is attributed to all of the students from his Advertising Strategies and Planning class.
The event was part of the curriculum for the class.
The meet and greet session served as a platform for seniors and juniors to get to know each other.
Mass Communication lecturers such as Mr. Khairul Irwan and Head of Program of DMC Lucinda Joseph attended the event.
Sylvia and the Bastards, a band that comprises of three DMC students, Sylvia Wong, Marcus Hui and Shaman Sreedhar, performed in front of an audience for the very first time.
